Day 22: Halfway Point
2:39 pm today (which is when I am typing this) marks the halfway point of our journey. We decided to celebrate by getting completely lost on the streets of New Jersey.
So… after 22.5 days, here are the useless stats:
24+: Number of states and federal districts we’ve visited on purpose.
1: Number of states we’ve visited on accident.
25: Number of people who have given us the marital advice of “never go to bed angry.”
2: Number of times we’ve gone to bed angry.
80%: Percentage of people we’ve visited who own dogs.
1%: Percentage of people who’ve owned dogs that tried to mount Jaime.
6: Number of techy items we carry from destination to destination.
2: Number of techy items Jaime has left behind that required UPS shipping to the next location.
95%: Percentage of days in which we’ve had an alcoholic beverage.
100%: Percentage of days when we’ve needed one.
And the more general stats:
56: People visited.
30.5: Average mpg of the 2010 Ford Fusion, aka Roxy.
$2.68: Average cost of a gallon of gas.
7722: Number of miles driven.
1: Number of speeding tickets.
1: Number of angry emails from grandparents about said speeding ticket.

I loved your latest post regarding your travel stats. We had a good laugh. And about the alcohol, we agree, nothing like a little nightcap after a long day on the road. That’s why we always travel with a flask.
I’m impressed with the mpg you are getting with Roxy Fusion, especially with all that speeding.
P.S. Weather report, more rain.
God, I can’t wait to hear stories!!!
I completely understand re: getting lost in NJ. My company bought a small operation in Carlsdadt and my colleague and I stayed at a hotel at the Meadowlands. The distance between those two locations is not far - unless you miss your turn and end up on the &*#($ NJ Turnpike. 45 minutes (and that was WITH the help of telenav) and countless “recalculating route” messages later, we completed our five minute journey.
